This afternoon room 8 presented out first assembly of the year, in celebration of Matariki. We opened the assembly with the waiata 'harehuia', before we played the Matariki video that the year six students had created.
Well done to Tumanako, Anita, Francesca and Telesia who presented the assembly.
Hi there, my name is Hadia and I am a student in room 21 at Owairaka School I really like your video about matariki. It made me think of the video we made last year we made a slide and introduced it by some kind of recorder. Have you thought about probably telling a story about matariki. ReplyDeleteKia ora Room 8,
ReplyDeleteThanks for creating a movie about Matariki. You are right, it is a very special time of year and I love how I am seeing so many classes and schools learning about Matariki and celebrating in all sorts of ways. The school near me had a hangi for all of the whānau and another school I know had a whānau picnic with Kapa Haka performing. Did you have any other special events at school or in your community?
Tania
